About

Katharine Lampen-Sachar, M.D., is a diagnostic radiologist at Radiology Associates of South Florida, Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Lampen-Sachar specializes in breast imaging, including three-dimensional mammograms (tomosynthesis), breast ultrasounds and breast MRIs. She also performs image-guided breast procedures, including stereotactic-guided needle biopsies, ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and MRI-guided biopsies. She is fluent in English and medical Spanish. 
Prior to joining Baptist Health South Florida in 2014, Dr. Lampen-Sachar was an assistant professor of radiology and assistant attending radiologist of breast and body imaging at New York -Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell. 
Dr. Lampen-Sachar currently serves as the vice chairman of the Radiological Society of North America’s Digital and Live Education Committee. She is a reviewer for the medical journals RadioGraphics, Clinical Imaging, Radiology Case Reports and RSNA’s Case Collection. 
Passionate about educating the next generation of physicians, Dr. Lampen-Sachar, an assistant professor, serves as the vice chairman of radiology at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. She is currently developing Baptist Health South Florida’s first diagnostic radiology residency program, which begins in 2025, and will serve as the program director. 
Dr. Lampen-Sachar’s approach to patient care is to coach each patient through the imaging and diagnostic process. She strives to be a source of support, information and education for each patient. 
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Lampen-Sachar enjoys spending time with her husband and twin daughters, long-distance running, traveling and reading historical fiction.
